누군가 어떤 제안을 했을 때, “생각해볼게”라는 말을 해야할 때가 있는 데요
그때 Let me think about it 이라고 할 수도 있지만 이건 짧은 찰라에 생각해볼게 라고 대답하는 것입니다. 거절하는게 불편할 때 빈말처러 자주 쓰이는 말!
"Let me mull over it" 이라고 대답하면 좀 더 진지하게 생각해 본다는 느낌을 줄 수 있습니다.
think about 보다 시간을 갖고 좀 더 깊이 생각/고민하는 느낌의 mull over
* mull over = think over very carefully
예문으로 보겠습니다.
A: 여기서 3개월 더 일해볼래?
B: 음 생각해볼게
A: Would you like to stay three month here?
B: Let me think about it(짧은 찰라에)생각해볼게 / Let me mull over it. (진지하게) 생각해볼게
생각할 시간이 필요할 때
Let's touch base next week.
I need some time to mull it over.
다음주에 다시 연락할게. 생각할 시간이 필요해
